Pace = Würfe + Ballverluste – gesicherte Abpraller nach eigenen Würfen

Interpretation

• zeigt, ob die Spielweise eines Teams eher schnell (viele Ballbesitze, hohe Pace) oder langsam (wenige Ballbesitze, niedrige Pace) ist
• in einzelnen Spielen wird die Spielgeschwindigkeit jedoch auch stark von der Spielweise des Gegners beeinflusst
• Rückschlüsse auf die Qualität des Teams sind daraus nicht möglich. Es gibt erfolgreiche wie auch erfolglose Teams, die schnell spielen und umgekehrt

Pace = Shots + Turnovers – Offensive Rebounds

Interpretation

• shows whether a team’s style of play is fast (many possessions, high pace) or slow (few possessions, low pace)
• in individual games, however, the pace is also strongly influenced by the opponent’s style of play
• it is not possible to draw conclusions about the quality of the team. There are successful as well as unsuccessful teams that play fast and vice versa
